It was just a matter of time before Google came out with this feature which people had been asking for a long time.
Google Docs is now available in offline mode.

This means that you can get access to your Google documents while not actively connected to the Internet.
Once you re-establish Internet connectivity, all of your changes get synchronized to your workstation.

The offline capability leverages a Google technology called Google Gears, which allows other 3rd party vendors to also offer web services in an offline mode (such as the fantastic “to do” list manager service: RememberTheMilk).

And for those that may have missed another relatively recent Google service, you can now use Google Maps on your mobile phone to locate yourself via your data connection, which means that you don’t need a GPS within your mobile in order to figure out where you are. Here’s a video on that as well.
