AVG antivirus Pro – for free (but only until Jan 17th)

AVGI just came across a promotion for AVG antivirus Pro, which normally sells for around $40, being offered for free.

You’ll need to get this quickly though, because this download is only being offered until Jan 17th, 2008.

    I'm not sure why you think it's a fake.

    I personally checked it out myself, and the file downloads and installs just fine (even though the download is a bit slow).

    You're correct in saying that there is an official free version from the same company, but this offers just very basic protection and features. The Pro version mentioned above is normally worth around $40, but can be downloaded for free until Jan 17th.

    There's nothing wrong with the official free version though, so there's no harm in using one versus the other.

    This is a fake, there is no such promotion! There is a free edition of AVG available at free.avg.com
