Annotate any web page with Google’s new SideWiki
by Ron Bertino on September 23, 2009
Google has launched a new product called SideWiki.
It allows you to annotate any web page or text within a web page via a sidebar which is available either through the Google Toolbar or which will also be integrated into the Google Chrome browser.
User comments can get voted up or down, in the hopes that this will control spam. Useful comments should end around the top and spammy content should be left at the bottom…..assuming people go through the trouble of voting the good comments up.
There are various other companies who have tried launching this same type of service, but when Google takes anything on it has a much higher chance of surviving.
